Driving License Category A1
Driving License Category A1 permits you to drive two-wheeled motorized vehicles. Specifically, it allows you to drive mopeds or small motorcycles that have engine power that is not more than 11 kW.
The procedure to obtain this type of license is slightly different from other categories. Let's look at the steps.
Prerequisites

Training

Theory test
The Driving License Category A1 exam is a two-part test that includes a theory and the practical portion. The test is designed to provide you with the basics of understanding and knowledge of the highway code. Both parts must be passed to receive your license. You can take the tests before or after you complete compulsory basic training (CBT).
The test for theory comprises 50 multiple-choice answers that you must correctly answer. It is recommended to study well for the test before taking it. You should also attend the theory class at an accredited driving school or a motorcycle training centre. You can also practice the questions on the internet.
After you have passed the theory test, you are able to arrange a test in the practical. You must bring your valid driver's license as well as evidence of identification to the test center, together with the vehicle you will be using for the test. Practical test
The practical test for the Driving License Category A1 exam is divided into two sections. The first involves the examiner examining your motorcycle and preparing you to drive. After having passed the theory and practical tests, you can get a Driving License Category A1. This licence allows the driver to drive a motorbike with a maximum engine capacity of 125cc and a weight/power ratio that is not more than 11.5 kW per kilogram. This licence allows you to drive a trike with an engine up to 125cc, and an engine power/weight ratio of not more than 11 kW per kg.
In addition to the driving test, you must pass an exam for medical reasons before you can obtain your license. You must also show evidence of a first aid course and pass the vision test. If you are under 18 years old, you'll need the permission of the parent or legal guardian to apply for an driver's license.
